Our beloved Fr. Serhii Chebotar who is a world renown church musician and choir director of our Cathedral- just received word from the Cleveland Clinic that a second double lung transplant will be preformed tonight! This is a great miracle! Seven years ago today on the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God he received his first double lung transplant. This feast is especially dear to him as it is the feast day of the Pochaev Lavra as well as the Kiev-Cave Lavra where he received his spiritual formation and musical and theological education. He also served as the Hierarchical choir director in the Pochaev Lavra for many years . Today without even suspecting of the upcoming surgery, he communed at Liturgy as was his tradition, not knowing he would be getting the call for his second transplant. We thank God and the Holy Theotokos for this incredible miracle and love for Fr. Serhii. His first surgery only lasted 2 years before he began rejecting it for unknown reasons. For 5 years he has been struggling to maintain his health. Yet, even with his breathing capacity at 16% he still manages to serve the church by conducting and singing. He conducted even during the pandemic with his oxygen tank! This would have been life threatening if he had contracted the virus. His selfless dedication to God and the church is exemplary for all of us.

His insurance covers the surgery, however with any surgery there are other medical overhead expenses that cannot be avoided. Please be generous in helping to offset his upcoming major expenses. Second transplants are typically more complicated and riskier than the first. Please pray for Fr. Serhii! We pray that this transplant will be more successful and he will have a speedy and painless recovery.

На� любимый батю�ка, регент церковного хора и изве�тный м�зыкант о. Сергей Чеботарь только что пол�чил изве�тие что е�ть донор лёгкого для него и операция по пере�адке второго лёгкого б�дет проведена �егодня ночью.

Это великое ч�до! Ровно �емь лет назад в Праздник У�пения Богородицы ем� пере�адили первое легкое!

Этот день ĐľŃ�обенно дорог емŃ� потомŃ�, что ŃŤŃ‚Đľ преŃ�тольный праздник ПочаевŃ�кой и Киево – ПечорŃ�кой Лавр где он Ń�формировалŃ�ŃŹ Đ´Ń�ховно и полŃ�чил ĐĽŃ�зыкальное и теологичеŃ�кое образование. Đž. Сергей Ń‚Đ°Đş же Ń�Đ»Ń�жил много лет Регентом архиерейŃ�кого хора ПочаевŃ�кой Лавры.

Сегодня по �воем� обычаю он прича�тил�я на Лит�ргии, ещё не зная об изве�тии о тран�плантации. Мы благодарим Го�пода и Свят�ю Богородиц� за это выдающее�я ч�до и любовь к о. Сергею.

Его первое легкое по неизве�тным причинам �тало отторгать�я �же через два года. В�е пять лет он борет�я за �вою жизнь. Его легкие ф�нкционир�ют только на 16%. Даже во время пандемии он р�ководил хором на церковных �л�жбах хотя ды�ит � помощью ки�лородного баллона! Он делал это не�мотря на �мертельн�ю для него опа�но�ть заразить�я вир��ом. Его �амоотверженное �л�жение Бог� и церкви должно быть вдохновительным примером для в�ех на�. Его медицин�кая �траховка покрывает �ам� операцию, но не �опровождающие дополнительные ра�ходы и время на реабилитации.
