Feastday of St. Sergius Cathedral, Cleveland, OH
On October 7-8, the community at St. Sergius Cathedral celebrated the memory of the Patron of the Temple, St. Sergius of Radonezh.  The Cathedral parishioners were also blessed to pray before the North American copy of the Port Arthur Icon of the Mother of God.  The services of the Feast were led by His Grace, Bishop John of Caracas.  Joining him were the Cathedral Clergy, Dean of the Cathedral Priest Ilya Marzev, Mitred-Archpriest Peter Burlakov, and Archpriest Peter Selenoi.  A number of local clergy also served for this joyous Feast, including Fr. Roman Star (Detroit, MI), Fr. Basil Stoyko (Lorain, OH), Fr. Zivojin Jakovljevic (Parma, OH), Fr. Dragomir Tuba (Akron, OH), and Fr. Michael Carney (Lake Odessa, MI).  The Cathedral also welcomed Hieromonk Alexander and Hierodeacon Sergius from the Holy Cross Monastery in West Virginia.  Near the end of the Divine Liturgy, Hieromonk Alexander delivered a sermon on the history of the Port Arthur Icon, and the lessons to be learned from this history.  Mitred Archpriest Peter Burlakov then delivered a sermon on the Feast of St. Sergius.  Following the services, the Cathedral Sisterhood offered a festive banquet for all those in attendance.  Later that day, at the invitation of Fr. Zivojin Jakovljevic, Bishop John visited the neighboring St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral.
