Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral (Chicago) - Following Divine Liturgy on July 10th, the icons, stands and chairs were all moved out of the church and into the parish hall to prepare for the upcoming remodeling work.  The candle stand and counters in the vestibule were removed and will be rebuilt.  The entryway, choir and vesting room in the altar will all be repainted.  Carpeting will also be changed in the entryway along with the runner in the middle of the church.  During the renovation, services will be held in the parish hall as the oil based floor finishing needs to dry and air out for a minimum of 2 weeks.  For this reason, everything needed to be moved from the church to the parish hall.  An announcement was made at the end of the Divine Liturgy and it was with great joy that we saw so many people volunteer to help with the move, young and old and even visitors alike!  Because of the large multitude of volunteers, everything was completely accomplished within the space of an hour!  The sisterhood thanked everyone afterwards with a light meal.  Thanks be to God!
