On August 27 & 28 the Dormition Cathedral celebrated its Second Pascha – the patronal feast day of the parish. Vigil on the eve of the feast was led by the Cathedral’s Rector, Archpriest Victor Trotskyy and the Cathedral’s Deacon Ioann Feloniuk. Also participating at the Divine Evening Services was Archpriest Andrei Alexiev, on loan from the Diocese of Chicago & Mid-America to the Serbian Church, Archpriest Zhivko Kajevic of St. Petka Serbian Church in Troy, MI, Archpriest Gregory Joyce and Deacon Zacharias Martinchek of St. Vladimir Church in Ann Arbor, MI. Divine Liturgy on the fast day itself was let by Archpriest Roman Star of St. Innocent Church in Redford, MI. Concelebrating clergy were Archpriest Victor Trotskyy, Archpriest Andrei Alexiev, Archpriest Gregory Joyce, Deacon Ioann Feloniuk, and Deacon Zacharias Martinchek. Following the Divine Liturgy on the feast day a procession was held, and after the kissing of the cross a festal luncheon. Bishop Peter had planned to lead the feast day services, but unfortunately was unable to attend due to illness. His Grace will visit this parish, the third cathedral of the diocese, at a later date.
