On Saturday, October 12, 2013, immediately following the Resurrection Vigil service, the first Starosta and one of the last remaining founders of the St. Vladimir Church here reposed in the Lord after a long illness. Milivoje (Milo) Radulovic was a Serbian immigrant to the United States, the grandson of a priest, and a significant force in the founding of the St. Vladimir Parish, which will celebrate its 35^th anniversary in 2016. Milo served the parish for 25 years as Starosta, stepping down only when his physical health prevented him from continuing his duties. Much of the work executed in the original parish church, turning it from a garage into a beautiful Orthodox temple, was done by the hands of this zealous servant of God. Bishop Peter presided at the funeral services for Milo, which took place on Wednesday, October 16. Before the funeral Milo’s body lay in state at St. Vladimir’s from Tuesday afternoon, with the parishioners continually reading the Psalter over him throughout the night. A memorial Divine Liturgy was served by the parish clergy before the funeral. The parish church was full to overflowing with parish family and friends gathered to prayerfully bid farewell to this man who dedicated his life to the service of the Lord and His Church. His memory will be eternally kept in this parish – may the Lord grant him rest in His Heavenly Kingdom!
