Archpastoral visit to Texas

On October 4/17, His Grace Bishop Peter visited San Antonio, Texas for the first time as he travelled to visit several south Texas parishes. While in San Antonio, Vladyka Peter shared lunch with local Orthodox clergy--ROCOR, OCA and Antiochian--and that evening presided at Vespers at Sts. Joachim and Anna mission led by Fr. Christopher Allen. After Vespers, Vladyka joined the congregation for a light meal and spoke at length with many of them. On the morning of Friday, October 5/18, His Grace toured the Alamo (pictured here), San Antonio's most famous landmark and historical site. He continued his journey that afternoon, going on to Holy Protection Church in Pflugerville (near Austin) for Vigil and Divine Liturgy the next day where he tonsured Joseph Brousseau of Sts. Joachim and Anna a reader and elevated him to the subdiaconate.
