Conclusion of the ORPR Camp Session 2018

On Saturday, August 4, 2018 His Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago & Mid-American presided at the closing ceremonies of this year's ORPR Camp session. Following a Thanksgiving Moleben in the St. Vladimir Temple of the camp the campers, in dress uniform, proceeded to the parade grounds of the camp where, for an entire month, each morning they had raised the American and Russian flags and participated in morning prayers, and each evening lowered the flags and participated in evening prayers. At each raising and lowering of the flags the Preobrazhensky March was sung. Before the final lowering of the flags on the camp year promotions, awards, and special thanks were provided to the campers, the leaders, and the staff of the camp by Archbishop Peter. Following the award ceremony the campers lowered the flag, sang the Preobrazhensky March one last time, and participated in the final parade of camp before their leaders and Archbishop Peter. Many lingered long into the afternoon saying extended goodbyes, recalling the highlights of their month together, and making plans for mid-year reunions. The 2019 camp year will begin on July 6, 2019 and run through August 3, 2019. Applications for the 2019 camp session will be available in the spring of 2019 on the ORPR Camp web site: http://www.orprcamp.org/
