Archpastoral visit to Nativity of Christ Orthodox Church (MP-USA) in Youngstown Ohio

On Saturday, January 11, his Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America celebrated in the continuation of the altar feast of Nativity of Christ Orthodox Church (MP-USA) in Youngstown Ohio, with the blessing of his Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh.

The Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by Frs. Daniel Rohan (Antiochian), Andrew Nelko (OCA), Emilian Hutyan (OCA), Ilya Marzev (ROCOR) Thomas Soroka (OCA), Nektarios Merry (ROCOR), Bosko Stojanovich (Serbian), Michael Lillie (ROCOR), and Boyan Bonovic (Serbian). His Eminence was assisted by Deacons Matthew Kaminsky(ROCOR) and Andrew Temple (ROCOR). The choir was led by Fr. Serhii Chebotar and singers from St Sergius Cathedral (ROCOR) of Parma, OH.

During the little entrance the acting rector of the parish, Priest Michael Lillie, was awarded the honor to wear the Kamilavka for his faithful service to The Holy Orthodox Church.

After the the Divine Liturgy the sisterhood of Nativity of Christ offered a festive banquet for all in attendance.

It was a wonderful celebration and a great blessing to the parish who have offered a home for the Russian Orthodox faithful of the Youngstown Ohio area since 1915.
