Second Pascha in Michigan’s Capital

Our small but active parish in Michigan’s Capital City, Lansing, celebrates its second Pascha on January 2/15 – the day of the repose of St. Seraphim of Sarov. This year, as His Eminence Archbishop Peter was unable to lead the Divine Services, the Dean of Michigan parishes, Archpriest Gregory Joyce, served the Divine Liturgy for the feast, assisted by Deacon Vladimir Pyrozhenko of the St. Vladimir parish in Ann Arbor, MI. Following the Divine Liturgy, at which almost all those present partook of Holy Communion, a festal meal was held in the mission’s social hall.

Pictures from the day can be found here: https://stvladimirchurch.smugmug.com/Michigan-Deanery/Lansing-Feast-Day-1152020/

Some years ago the mission purchased a former medical office and has been working diligently to convert this building into an Orthodox temple, living quarters for a priest, and social and educational space. Much work has been done, but much work remains! Learn more at the mission’s web site:

Please remember the mission and the workers in your prayers!
