Epistle of Archbishop Peter on the 800th Anniversary of the Birth of St. Alexander Nevsky

According to the blessing of the Synod of Bishops and Archbishop Peter, August 30/September 12 of this year will mark the all-Abroad celebration of the 800th anniversary of the birth of the great favorite of God, St. Alexander Nevsky. On that day, as communicated earlier, the Divine Services for the Sunday should be combined with the service to St. Alexander Nevsky. A vigil with litya should be served. An icon for veneration should be placed in the temple for the veneration of the people. A cross procession should be held according to the rubrics below. And the Epistle of Archbishop Peter should be read in all parishes and monasteries of our diocese in place of the priest’s sermon.
